Thank you to all who attended our virtual multidisciplinary international stakeholder conference, Voice-Activated AI for Stuttered Speech: Convergence Symposium. Our primary aim was to learn from people who stutter and other stakeholders about stuttering and voice-activated artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

Our conference included panel discussions with people who stutter and a variety of experts in the fields of engineering, ethics, human resources, and AI, to better learn how automatic speech recognition systems affect people who stutter, both in the hiring and employment process and in their lives.

The outcome of our conference included action steps for creating fair and accessible voice-activated AI systems in the hiring process and beyond. We were excited to learn from a wide group of individuals and create a broader impact for other communication differences to make sure every voice is heard
